A very special weekend in Ross on Wye

In mid September, just 3 weeks before Charlie passed, our La Creme group of friends spent a brilliant weekend in Ross on Wye. Charlie had organised the whole trip and we stayed in a converted barn on a farm with stables. Tod and Bev cooked up a treat on the first night and we had a fantastic evening catching up, laughing and a few drinks along the way. Charlie was also in charge of finding a walk the next day, and whilst Ross looked very accessible on a map, we had to walk virtually along a motorway to get there! Charlie of course eventually discovered a short cut across the fields and we made it into Ross, stopping along the river for the inevitable pint. It was a 25km round trip! That evening we spent in a delightful country pub for dinner, once again a top evening. To finish the weekend off, we had a great lunch sitting under umbrellas in the sun, enjoying home cooked sausage rolls and cakes. A perfect weekend full of laughter and good times, and that is how we will all remember Charlie, our cherished friend. xx
